Bernd Maylander Crash Video | F1 Safety Car Crashes into Barriers at Monza
WEIRD: The Safety Car, an Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition, crashed at Parabolica in Monza earlier today.
Driver Bernd Mayländer and his passenger Richard Darker were unhurt in the crash.
Yesterday the Safety Car had a problem with the brakes, it seems that they were too hot.
In the first image we see smoke in the rear area.
In the second image the rear discs are red hot.

It seems that Maylander made an evasive manoeuvre to reduce speed in view of the imminent impact.
“There was an on-track incident with the FIA Safety Car today at Monza,” read a statement from the FIA.
It looks like he had issues with the brakes, he quickly realizes and initiates a spin, this is the only way to lose speed before an inevitable impact.
This action reduced the risk of injuries for the passenger and himself. Both are confirmed to be fine. Class act from Mayländer. pic.twitter.com/pFQRnsUAWN
