Moses Lim Passed Away
RIP Moses Lim, an iconic comedian in Singapore passes away with his jokes lighted up my life when I was growing up and one fun fact, he’s also an angel investor in the F&B market for Singapore:
A review six months later revealed his conditions were stable and his doctor agreed on not implanting the pacemaker.
Lim died on 11 February 2025, at the age of 75. No cause of death was announced.
Moses Lim Aik Ming (12 December 1949 – 11 February 2025) was a Singaporean actor, television host, comedian, and food critic, best known for playing Tan Ah Teck in the Singaporean sitcom Under One Roof (1995–2003).
Together with his comedy partner, Jack Neo, they were often compared to Wang Sa and Ye Fong, a popular Singapore comedy duo in the 60s and 70s.
“Those who had the privilege of working with him speak warmly of his generosity in mentoring younger talents and his absolute dedication to his craft,” read the Facebook post announcing Lim’s death.
“Whether he was delivering punchlines in English or Chinese, Moses had that incredible gift of making everyone feel like family – that was his magic.”
Actor Nicholas Lee, who played Lim’s son Ronnie Tan in Under One Roof, paid tribute to his on-screen father. “My dearest Moses, you are like the second dad I’ve lost, and the pain is indescribable,” Lee wrote on Instagram on Feb 12.
“I shall treasure always and fondly the many moments we shared during those years of incredible joy. Unforgettable and irreplaceable. I’m so thankful to be able to share one last scene with you just last month. Sleep well, Dad, love you always.”
His wake will take place from 11am on Feb 13 at Church of the Good Shepherd at 2 Dundee Road. The cortege leaves for Mandai Crematorium and Columbarium at noon on Feb 15.
