Jesse Colin Young, Pioneering Rock Musician, Dead at 83

Singer and songwriter, Jesse Colin Young, has died at 83. His hit, Get Together, with The Youngbloods was one of the iconic songs of the 1960s peace movement.

His soft tenor voice sold the song Get Together as the anthem for peace in the 1960’s.

I will always remember Jesse Colin Young’s music that brought so much joy to so many and had such a positive impact on the world! I will cherish the memory of this song in particular. Rest in peace

So saddened by the loss of Jesse Colin Young, his music was a powerful influence in my youth. He will be missed. Sending prayers love & light to the family, friends, & fans. While I love Get Together, this is my fav.

Who is Jesse Colin Young ?

Perry Miller (November 22, 1941 – March 16, 2025), known professionally as Jesse Colin Young, was an American singer and songwriter. He was a founding member and lead singer of the 1960s group the Youngbloods.[2] After their dissolution in 1972, Young embarked on a solo career, releasing a series of albums through Warner Bros. Records, including Song for Juli (1973), Light Shine (1974), Songbird (1975), and the live album On the Road (1976).
