Good News: TikTok is back online after Trump pledged to restore it
BREAKING: Tik Tok has confirmed it will shut down in the U.S. on January 19th.
Meanwhile, Kevin O’Leary has made a $20 billion offer to buy TikTok. The announcement comes as the Supreme Court SCOTUS backed the law requiring TikTok to be banned or sold.
Attorneys for Tik Tok and its content producers were in federal court yesterday to argue against the new law that would require Tik Tok to be sold to a U. S. company or face being banned in the the U. S. The question is whether the law violates the First Amendment and should be struck down.
Trump said, “as of today, TikTok is back,” while speaking during a “victory rally” as part of his three-day inauguration event on Sunday, telling the crowd in D.C., “we have no choice, we have to save it,” while suggesting the U.S. will own 50% of the company in what he referred to as a “joint venture” that would “make a lot of money.”

TikTok is back online
TikTok should not be banned in the USA, even though such a ban may benefit the 𝕏 platform. Doing so would be contrary to freedom of speech and expression. – Elon Musk
He added: I have been against a TikTok ban for a long time, because it goes against freedom of speech. That said, the current situation where TikTok is allowed to operate in America, but 𝕏 is not allowed to operate in China is unbalanced. Something needs to change.
TikTok restored service to users in the US on Sunday just hours after the popular video-sharing platform went dark in response to a federal ban, which President-elect Donald Trump said he would try to pause by executive order on his first day in office.
President Trump said he planned to issue the order to give TikTok’s China-based parent company more time to find an approved buyer before the ban takes full effect. He announced the move on his Truth Social account as millions of U.S. TikTok users awoke to discover they could no longer access the TikTok app or platform.
