A livestream video from the southwest side of the summit caldera of Kīlauea Volcano inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island once again showed a lava fountain at 10 a.m. Wednesday from one of the vents in Halemaʻumaʻu Crater. It resumed Wednesday morning as a “small, slow-moving lava flow” and then increased to a fountain that appeared to be 200 feet (60 meters) high, the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said.

The observatory said the heights of the fountains were likely to increase as more gas-rich lava erupted. The eruption is visible from many public viewing points in the park. The lava does not pose any danger to homes or infrastructure.
